Wanna convert and downscale 4K MXF videos to 1080p ProRes for easily editing? This article will teach you how to. Keep reading.
I shot 4 TB of footage on a Sony PXW-z150 4K XDCAM camcorder mostly in 4k, and I am combining multiple clips in FCPx 10.3.1. The native mxf files are too large for import to FCP. Therefore, I am looking for a simple way to downscale 4K MXF videos to 1080p ProRes for FCP. After searching on Google, I think I found the ultimate way.
Brorsoft MXF Converter for Mac is what I found on Google. It has FCP X native profile with five types of ProRes codecs- ProRes 422, ProRes 422(LT), ProRes 422(HQ), ProRes 422(proxy), ProRes 444, and allows you freely adjust the video and audio parameters as you need. Of course, you can downscale 4K to 1080p. Moreover, it also offers the optimized codecs for other NLEs like DNxHD for Avid, MPEG-2 for Premiere, AIC for iMovie .etc. If you are a PC user and also want to get ProRes codec, Brorsoft MXF Converter Windows version is designed for you. Now, download the software on computer and let’s start conversion.
