Premiere Elements Not Working 4K Videos- Fixed

Learn 4K video to Adobe Premiere Elements best workflow from this page.

Since Premiere Elements 14, it has got a bunch of tweaks, including 4K video support. Based on our testing, I’ve been using it for 3K video footage and it is “smooth” on an i7 computer with 16 GB of RAM. Whereas, there are still some 4K to Premiere Elements issues around you or other guys.

“ I recorded some 4K videos with a Sony cam. Some of the files work great in Adobe Premiere Elements (I can see the video and hear sound). Others do not work at all. Help will be greatly appreciated with this.

Actually, it’s probably due to the source video/audio codec. And if your computer is not powerful enough, it leads more issues. We do know a couple 4K shooters who … for editing … transcode all their 4k footage to a more editable format like MPEG2 for Adobe Premiere Elements.

Overall, Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac is the best choice to get the work done. The program is an easy-to-use yet professional app which can be used as a 4K to Premiere Elements Converter under Mac OS X(macOS Mojave, High Sierra included). With it, you can effortlessly transcode any 4K video (MP4, MOV, ProRes) to edit in Premiere Elements, Avid Media Composer, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, iMovie and more NLEs without problems. If you are running a Windows computer, please turn to the alternative Windows version – Video Converter. Below is how. Just take a look at the brief guide below.

How to Convert 4K Footage to Premiere Elements for smooth editing

Step 1. Install and launch the 4K video converting program on your Mac. Click “Add” button to load the source files. (Or you can drag & drop the 4K files to the software’s window list.)

Step 2. Choose output format. This video converter offers optimized format preset for Adobe Premiere. Just click “Format” menu firstly and then follow “Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas” to set MPG, MOV or WMV format.

Tip: You can click “Settings” button to adjust output parameters as you want, such as resolution, bitrate, etc. 1080p is recommended for old computer users.

Step 3. Click Convert button to start 4K video conversion for Premiere Elements. Once the conversion completes, you can click “Open” to find the .MPG videos which can be imported to Premiere Elements 13/14/15/2018 directly.

Editor’s Note:
Shooting 4K and scaling down to 1080 looks better because each final 1080p pixel is actually the average of 4 original 4K pixels. This “averaging” of pixels increases color accuracy, sharpness, and improves noise performance.
